The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) has appointed leading wine marketing and communications consultant Angie Bradbury as Chair of the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards (RMWA), in her second year as a committee member.
Well renowned within the wine industry for her strategic brand and marketing projects as Managing Director of Dig&Fish creative agency and holding previous roles as Chair of Wine Communicators Australia, Board Member of Wine Victoria and member of the Victorian Food and Wine Tourism Council, Ms Bradbury was offered the post last month after receiving support from fellow committee members and the RASV board.
RASV CEO Mark O’Sullivan said the organisation was delighted Ms Bradbury had accepted the role, as her skill set and knowledge are valuable assets in the development of the prestigious awards. “Angie is an exceptionally knowledgeable and well respected wine industry professional and RASV is thrilled she has accepted the role of Committee Chair,” said Mr O’Sullivan. “This is a very exciting time for the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards and we know Angie, along with all members of the committee, will positively impact on the growth of not only the awards, but the Australian wine industry as a whole.”
Ms Bradbury takes over the position from predecessor Phil Sexton, who has been a committee member for seven years and Chair since 2012.
“We are extremely grateful for the dedication and expertise Phil Sexton has brought to the role of RMWA Chair over a number of years and thank him for his significant contribution.”
Ms Bradbury started her first marketing communication agency in February 2000 and has since gone on to become a leading authority in strategic marketing and brand communications for the food, drinks and leisure industries.
“I have been involved with the RMWA for several years and am honoured to be appointed the Committee Chair. Over the last few years, this Show has evolved in line with our industry’s growth and development and I look forward to maintaining that momentum. I would like to thank Phil Sexton for his leadership and guidance and very much look forward to working with Chief Judge Tom Carson, the fantastic team at RASV and the Wine Show Committee to ensure that the recognition of our Awards grows at home and abroad,” Said Ms Bradbury.
The Royal Melbourne Wine Awards are held in October each year.
