2014 Royal Melbourne Show attendees have rated their event experience very highly in the post-event research that was conducted by IER on behalf of the RASV. This year’s overall experience rating was 8/10 which is the equal highest ever recorded. The research is conducted each year to gain further insights into customer needs, wants and expectations and in particular assist in the planning and improving the 2015 Royal Melbourne Show.
In further positive news, an independent study commissioned by the RASV, identified the gross value of the event to be in excess of $240million to the state of Victoria, cementing the Royal Melbourne Show’s position as Victoria’s largest and most iconic annual community event.
With hundreds of thousands of people attending this year’s Show, including a record attendance for Grand Final Day (Saturday 27th September), customers indicated high satisfaction level with the overall customer service, security and safety, entertainment and attractions.
Research indicated that 92% of attendees took the opportunity to see animals on display at the Royal Melbourne Show including more than 360,000 people visiting the Jayco Animal Nursery.
The 159th Royal Melbourne Show celebrated of a number of milestones, including the 80th Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout and the 100th Anniversary of the Clydesdale Champion.
The delicious food on offer was also not lost on attendees with over 5000 CWA scones, 49,000 jam donuts, 60,000 cups of coffee and 2,500 glasses of award-winning wine consumed over the duration of the event.
