Be part of Wool Day, presented by Elders, at the Royal Melbourne Show on Friday 26 September, and celebrate the harvesting, processing and end products of Australia’s fine fibre.
The Royal Melbourne Show Fleece Competition will be judged in The Weekly Times Livestock Pavilion, with activities demonstrating classing, wool pressing, stenciling and garment production running alongside.
Come along for Wool Industry Drinks in the ringside Stockman’s Lounge in the afternoon, sponsored by Rodwells & Co, and see the latest fashions in the Fashion Parade at 3pm.
Head over to the Paddock to Plate Pavilion to see the Australian Wool Innovation (AWI) sheep shearing demonstrations, touch and feel wool at the different stages of production and look out for the AWI ‘Ram-Train’ as this line of woolly wanderers head from the Paddock to Plate Pavilion to The Weekly Times Livestock Pavilion four times daily.
View the award-winning wool garments as part of the AWI ‘WOOL4SKOOLS’ display and the alpaca scarves competition in the Art, Craft & Cookery Pavilion. Search Melbourne Showgrounds for the cute yarn-bombed animals and cuddle a baby lamb in the Jayco Animal Nursery.
RASV appreciates the support of AWI, Elders and Rodwells & Co in presenting Wool Day at Show.
