RASV contributes to Australian Farm Institutes future research priorities

Australian Farm InstituteKey members of the agribusiness community recently met in Sydney to identify future research priorities for the Australian Farm Institute.

The RASV had representation at the full day workshop to provide their views on the challenges and opportunities facing Australian agriculture.

Participants were then asked to work together to develop a list of issues to be considered by the Institute for its 2015 research projects. The research projects aim to identify policy responses that optimise the opportunity for business in the sector to remain profitable and sustainable.

Last year’s issues included; developing a rational approach to animal welfare policies, strategic marketing and trade outlook for Australian agriculture, and review of capital and funding model for the farm sector.
