Celebrate agriculture at The Heart of Victoria
Victoria’s $12 billion dollar agricultural economy will be recognised and celebrated at the upcoming Agriculture: The Heart of Victoria annual gala dinner.
Hosted by The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) and the Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF), the event will be held on Thursday 11 June at Central Pier Docklands and tickets are now on sale to the public.
The event is themed ‘A Taste of Victoria’s Finest’ and will showcase seasonal produce and wine to celebrate the vital role Victorian agriculture plays in the future of Australia’s trade and investment opportunities.
RASV CEO, Mark O’Sullivan, said this is the third time the organisation has partnered with VFF to help shine a light on Victoria’s thriving agricultural industry.
“The evening celebrates our vibrant agricultural sector and is an opportunity for industry, government, media, farmers and the public to come together and explore the future of Victorian agriculture,’ Mr O’Sullivan said.
“Last year’s dinner proved extremely popular with more than 850 people attending the gala event. We’re hoping for a similar show of support again this year,” he said.
The event will see Olympic gold medallist Giaan Rooney debut as MC. Known for her career in the pool, Giaan now spends her time on a cattle farm in Euroa with husband Sam Levett and is a strong advocate for Victorian agriculture.
“If you’re passionate about Victoria, and particularly the contribution its farmers make to the state, then this is a night not to miss – I’m honoured to be hosting the event” said Ms Rooney.
“The evening will feature the finest foods and wine, along with first class entertainment as well as a fashion show by Victoria’s very own Leila McDougall. The night provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate our achievements and look ahead to our exciting future.”
The Heart of Victoria gala dinner sponsored by: Coles; Department of Economic Development; and Rural Finance will be held at Peninsula Shed 14 at Central Pier, Docklands.
