The RASV Heifer Challenge received 47 entries in 2015 with participants required to display pens of 10 registered heifers for judging, which took place over nine days from Tuesday 27 January to Wednesday 4 February, 2015.
Mr Woodburn, a renowned cattle judge from Forbes, NSW said his was an enjoyable but challenging task because of the high quality of entries, evidenced by his request to increase the number of finalists this year from 10 to 12.
“It’s been the most marvellous experience. I’ve spent almost a lifetime judging cattle and this is one of the most worthwhile competitions I’ve been involved in,” said Mr Woodburn.
“The quality I saw over the nine day period was absolutely exceptional and I really believe our beef industry is in very good hands.”
