Horses in Action

The Royal Melbourne Show Horses in Action Competition celebrates the best horses and riders, receiving over 2,000 entries from more than 350 exhibitors, competing across 250 classes each year.

The extensive program includes saddle horse and riding classes, Showjumping, Hunting and Harness.

The competition provides breeders, riders and owners with the opportunity to benchmark against some of the finest horses and riders in the country.

There’s nothing quite like the prestige associated with exhibiting in the Royal Melbourne Show Horses in Action competition which offers over $80,000 in trophies and prize money.

Entries Open: Thursday 27 April 2017

Entries Close (Showjumping): Monday 26 June 2017

    2017 marks 60 years since the introduction of Sun-News Pictorial Miss Show Girl Competition in Victoria. Introduced in 1957, the event was open to girls aged between 16 – 25. Most Victorian country shows ran a qualifying heat with the winner eligible for the final, which was judged at the Royal Melbourne Show.

    RASV is thrilled to be partnering with the 2017 Australian Sheep and Wool Show, the biggest event of its kind in Australia, to be held in Bendigo in July. In a new initiative, the Show will also be the first time the Competition Management System developed by RASV will be used by an outside event.
