How do I enter the Art, Craft & Cookery Competition?
You will first need to consult the Art, Craft & Cookery Exhibition Schedule, which lists the Art, Craft & Cookery special regulations, conditions of entry, entry classes, entry fees, and requirements for each section. How do I know if I have an existing account?
If you entered the Art, Craft & Cookery Competition in 2012 or after, either online or by post, then you will have an online Login ID. You should login using your email address as the Login ID and enter your password. If you do not know your password, select "Forgotten Your Password?" on the login page to reset it.

When do entries open and close?
Entries open on 4 May 2017 and will close on 1 August 2017.

Are all entries accepted?
There are specific requirements for each category, section and class. These can be found in the Exhibition Schedule. Entries that do not meet specified requirements including size restrictions will not be accepted.

Can I post my entry?
Entries may be delivered by courier or post if unable to be delivered in person. Parcels must arrive by Friday 1 September 2017. Late deliveries will not be accepted. Parcels must be addressed to: Art, Craft & Cookery, RASV, Melbourne Showgrounds, Epsom Road, Ascot Vale Vic 3032.

Can my exhibit be returned by post?
This depends on the nature of the exhibit and its size. Specific details are outlined in the Art, Craft & Cookery Exhibition Schedule. Dispatch details must be completed as part of the entry form. All fees must be paid in full to ensure an entry is returned by post.  

How do I know whether I should enter the novice, open or master section?
See the detailed definitions below:
NOVICE: An Exhibitor with no more than two years’ experience in a section and who has not won a 1st prize in the relevant section at any Royal Show. 
OPEN: Competition open to all.
MASTER: An Exhibitor who has won a 1st prize in the Open classes of the relevant section at any Royal Show. In your entry please state qualifying year and Show.

Do I need to qualify to enter the Royal Melbourne Show?
Most categories are open to all for entry, although individual classes may have specific criteria. The junior competition has an age limit and the restricted section has specific entry criteria.

How much are the entry fees?
Art Competition: $18 per entry for RASV members; $25 per entry for non-members.
Photography Competition $15 per entry for RASV members, $20 per entry non-members.
Craft, Preserves, Cookery, Confectionery and Decorated Cake Competitions: $11 per entry for RASV members; $15 per entry for non-members.
Restricted and Junior Competitions including schools: $5 per entry. Entry fees will not be refunded.

Can I bring my entry in earlier or collect it later than the specified dates?
All Art, Craft, Restricted, Photography, Decorated Cakes, Preserves and Junior/Schools exhibits are to be delivered on Tuesday 5 September 2017 between 12 noon and 8pm.

All Cookery Exhibits are to be delivered on Sunday 17 September 2016 between 9am and 12 noon.

All exhibits to be collected on Thursday 5 October 2017 between 12 Noon and 8pm.

Only Fruitcakes, Chocolate and Preserves can be returned. All other food is disposed of at end/during Show. Any remaining Fruitcakes, Chocolates or Preserves not collected on October 5 2017 will be disposed of.

Non-food exhibits not collected on Thursday 5 October 2017 will be stored until Friday 24 November 2017. 

After this time the RASV will dispose of all exhibits.

How do I withdraw my entry?
You can withdraw your entry by moving through the Enter Online wizard, prior to the closing date for entries.

If I withdraw my entry before the close of entries, will I receive a refund?
You may delete online entries before you have submitted them to the Shopping Cart, but once this has been done you must withdraw them from the competition. Withdrawals will be authorised by the RASV. Refunds are at the discretion of the RASV.

Can I list my entry for sale at the Show?
Currently only Art and Photography can be sold as part of the Exhibition during Show.

I am bringing someone else’s entry, whose name should the entry be under?
The entry should be under the name of the person who created the item that has been entered into the Competition.  If you are collecting the exhibit at the end of the Show on behalf of someone else, then you will need to present the identification portion of the exhibit ticket to the pavilion staff in the Art, Craft & Cookery Pavilion.

As an exhibitor, am I entitled to discounted Royal Melbourne Show entry tickets?
Art, Craft & Cookery exhibitors are not entitled to discounted entry tickets. However, by purchasing the restricted or full RASV membership, you will receive tickets to the Royal Melbourne Show.
